Health and modelling often go hand in hand, with the media continually scrutinizing models figures, whatever their size, it’s hard to know what lengths models will go to to reach their body goals.
Modelling opens up the opportunity for positive and negative judgments about your appearance and body, for experienced models this is part of the course and something they have grown used to, but for others it can take it’s toll!

“I hope to promote diversity and inclusion as a wheelchair user in more campaigns such as this in the future!” – Alex
Models Direct have been involved with many campaigns and shoots featuring disable models and we hope we can be involved in many more – here’s what our #malemodel Alex had to say after recently working with Heathrow Airport:
“Hi, I have just had a fabulous experience on my first assignment with Models Direct, courtesy of Molly at Models Direct and working with Ingenious on behalf of Heathrow Airport. Natalie met me on arrival, such a lovely lady, offering refreshments and kept me posted on the time frame and set up status of equipment etc. We started promptly at noon, Steve and Magnus, the team responsible for the shots, were great, made me feel relaxed and confident. We had an initial chat then onto some shots before an informal interview whilst being pictured. The whole experience was simple from start to finish, everywhere was of course accessible, parking was easy, directions and contact info all provided, just very very easy. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and hope to promote diversity and inclusion as a wheelchair user in more campaigns such as this in the future. Many thanks to everyone involved in the selection process, it’s been a privilege – Thank you!”
“Within my first 6 months with the agency they had got me 5 different jobs!”
“I originally joined Models Direct in September 2016, and I was really pleased with how simple the process was to set up my profile, and how helpful all the team at Models Direct were. Within my first 6 months with the agency they had got me 5 different jobs: A commercial for Matched Bet, an online video for the Vena Software System, an advert for Taylor Wimpey Homes, a commercial for Feel Good Contact Lenses and a bridal shoot.
I then had to leave Models Direct for 8 months while I had a full-time presenting contract, but as soon as the contract finished I knew I wanted to re-join the agency; and within only a couple of weeks, I already had been booked on another photoshoot.
I originally trained and worked as a professional dancer, before moving into the world of Commercials, TV and Presenting. In such a competitive industry full of a lot of talent, it’s rare to find an agency that are so easy to talk to and who you know are actively seeking you great work. I have enjoyed every shoot I’ve had through Models Direct and look forward to working for them again soon.”

We are told laughter is the best medicine, but if you’re not feeling it how can you laugh for the camera?
Whenever you see a model laughing on the front page of a magazine, you should remember that they are acting. This side of modelling is often forgotten as people don’t look past the smile and wonder what kind of day they might be having, or what they did after the shoot. They may well have got up before sunrise and travelled miles to a photo shoot, perhaps unwell, not feeling themselves or be dealing with any other of life’s challenges!
Models Direct’s agents explain daily the importance of making the best of your online portfolio, it’s what the client’s see when you are put forward for potential work, so how can you make sure you stand out above the rest?
Photographs: – It is surprising how many models do not update their photographs once they are on the books. Your application pictures may have been good, but when being put forward to clients it’s important to have a variety of great shots, to show your personality and how versatile you are infront of the camera. Keeping your photographs seasonal can also make a big difference too, if a client is viewing you in a search during the Summer months seeing you wrapped up in the snow isn’t ideal, so be sure to update your photographs as the seasons change! Regular updates also means that if any of your looks have changed, ie; hair, weight, tattoos/piercings etc , clients are viewing you as you are at that moment which is essential if you are then selected for the assignment. Make sure your photographs are clear, taken in natural light and have a plain background, this will make you stand out and more likely to catch a client’s eye when they are sourcing the next face for their new campaign!

The Models Direct team are delighted for the lovely Burton family who have just recently completed their 3rd assignment with Models Direct!
Family modelling is big at the minute and ‘real’ families are always best, so the assignments team were so pleased to be able to offer the Burton’s another assignment , this time it was a day at the beach – doesn’t get much better than that!
How lovely to be be paid to have fun with your family at the beach and get a surfing lesson thrown in too!
Here’s what the family had to say about their experience:
“We had an amazing time on the video shoot in Swansea with Film Up High, Rob was brilliant and made the experience so much fun.
The best part was having a family surf lesson in Caswell Bay, it was so much fun. We all managed to stand up on our boards too.
The weather was forecast for 12 degrees and showers which was what the production company were hoping for as we were supposed to advertise that you can have fun on the beach whatever the weather but the sun was shining and it was about 17 degrees, which was perfect for us. Rob had to make it rain with his water sprayer.
All in all we had a fantastic time and can’t wait to see what adventures the next assignment will bring.
Thank you Models Direct.” – The Burton Family
