Even with the backing of a modelling agency like ours (Models Direct in case you’re new to our pages), you can take the bull by the horns and help increase your chances of getting modelling work.
Our job is to make sure we connect you to our clients when they call for your look but with our simple framework below, any type of model – baby, adult or pet – can work on their end to stay visible and attract attention.

Here’s a breakdown of how you can do this!
1. Build a portfolio
The bigger and more diverse your portfolio is, the better. If you have lots of versatile images including different angles, perspectives and looks, shot at various times to capture seasonal changes, this will be a surefire to get heads turning and catch clients’ eyes which is something you definitely want!
Top tip: keep your portfolio as up-to-date as possible with your most recent look. Clients want to see you in real time not in the pages of your history, as interesting as that would be.

2. Know who you are marketing towards
Are you interested in twinning up with your…twin? Or teaming up with your partner? Or are you interested in petite modelling (because you fit the criteria!)? Whatever the interest is, whichever the modelling niche it may be, be sure to create your portfolio to reflect this! Clients want to see your passions – are you a sporty spice? Or do you want to specialise in the behind-the-scenes fitting process as a fit model?
Our agency fits every look and style so don’t hesitate to join us! We cater for all sorts of interesting modelling divisions so that everyone interested can feel included in this evolving industry.
3. Keep your socials profesh
You likely have social media. Who doesn’t in 2025? Well, some of us don’t (which is chill) but for those of us who do and are looking to increase our chances of being hired for modelling work, well, the key is to keep those socials looking clean and pristine. By this we mean, no boozy pics and unprofessional snaps that would do more harm than good when attracting potential clients.

Remember to use hashtags skillfully such as #modelsdirect, #modellingagency, and #fashionmodel to boost your searchability.
4. Practise mirror work
Stand in front of your mirror and practise poses. See what feels comfortable for you and what you like. If you need ideas, it’s good to see how other models and personalities are vibing in the industry! This will help you get ready for assignments and help you build your portfolio with dazzling poses and expressions!
5. Take care of your mind and body

Modelling can be a bit ruthless. Sometimes you’re waiting for a while for something to happen but it doesn’t feel like it will happen. It’s important to keep your mind and body clear of negativity and rejection. Remember one door closes and another one opens. There are opportunities everywhere and if you keep yourself feeling positive, motivated and happy, you’ll be a step closer to helping increase your chances of being booked.
Our Models Direct team hopes these tips have helped you. If you need further advice or support, don’t hesitate to let us know!
