Everyone reading this is likely to be an “everyday person”. A lot of jobs suit a lot of people, but not every job is appropriate for everyone. What makes an “everyday person” and why is commercial modelling ideal for them?
For decades we’ve banged the drum for the merits of commercial modelling. It differs from high fashion modelling in that commercial models are used to promote and advertise products and services that the public use – i.e. everyday people. Therefore, a lot of brands around the world choose to employ commercial models to appeal to the public. There are no catwalks, no famous faces, and minimal gimmicks – just normal talented people using their skills to help brands reach out to a wider audience.
Why are more everyday people turning to commercial modelling? We’re not surprised at the numbers, because we know the merits of everyday people working with our clients. But let’s highlight the main advantages of everyday people working as commercial models:
- Varied looks and talents. We provide our clients with just about any looks and talent, from toddlers to mature models, from all backgrounds, and possessing different skills. Clients need variety and diversity to satisfy the number of bookings.
- Location. Some modelling agencies provide work to models in a large (but restricted) region. We offer work to our models in every part of the UK, so there’s more opportunity for every registered model.
- Modelling can be done temporarily / on an ad hoc basis. There’s no commitment on a model’s part, although we do insist that models tell us as soon as they know they can’t fulfil the assignment.
- Assistance. There’s always help on hand here at Models Direct, before, during and after assignments.
- Ambition. Commercial modelling can lead to bigger things – more modelling jobs, bigger clients, TV work etc.

If you want to join us as a registered model so we can put you forward for modelling work that suits your schedule, now is the right time.
