A two day, photographic, lifestyle shoot for Luxury Student Housing in Liverpool was a great assignment that models Dariah, Tegan, Jamie and Erik were successfully selected for…….check out how they got on:
I was a Care Worker. My degrees are in Performance and Writing, but I never thought in a billion years, that I may actually use them. When I made the decision that perhaps I could become a plus size model, most people would dismiss the very notion. But it was like I woke up one morning and decided that I could show off my size 20 skills, just as well as those size 10 ladies. After about 10 minutes on Google, I didn’t stop to consider if I should apply, I just did it. I’ve always known I looked different, but Models Direct was the first one to see it as a potential selling point. Who knew my first assignment would end up being my regular income!
Fireworks night is super exciting and the Models Direct team have had lots of fun over the weekend at firework displays, warming up by the bonfire and of course maybe toasting the odd marshmallow – however as an office of animal lovers we haven’t forgotten to keep our beloved pets safe!
“I hope to promote diversity and inclusion as a wheelchair user in more campaigns such as this in the future!” – Alex
Models Direct have been involved with many campaigns and shoots featuring disable models and we hope we can be involved in many more – here’s what our #malemodel Alex had to say after recently working with Heathrow Airport:
“Hi, I have just had a fabulous experience on my first assignment with Models Direct, courtesy of Molly at Models Direct and working with Ingenious on behalf of Heathrow Airport. Natalie met me on arrival, such a lovely lady, offering refreshments and kept me posted on the time frame and set up status of equipment etc. We started promptly at noon, Steve and Magnus, the team responsible for the shots, were great, made me feel relaxed and confident. We had an initial chat then onto some shots before an informal interview whilst being pictured. The whole experience was simple from start to finish, everywhere was of course accessible, parking was easy, directions and contact info all provided, just very very easy. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and hope to promote diversity and inclusion as a wheelchair user in more campaigns such as this in the future. Many thanks to everyone involved in the selection process, it’s been a privilege – Thank you!”

Everybody knows about Fashion Models, they are in the press and media constantly and often have celebrity status’s themselves earning thousands, but what about Commercial Models?? What do they earn and what can you expect?
There is a big difference between fashion and commercial Models, Models Direct represent both, but don’t tend to often work with high fashion models.
The most common form of modelling is commercial modelling, where models advertise and represent products. Commercial models may be used to convey a certain image about a product. The good thing about modelling within this sector is that physical requirements vary depending on the client, assignment and product. Each individual product will require a different image, story and look in order to appeal to their target audience.
It can be difficult to know what commercial models can expect to earn and it can vary hugely! Earnings can change depending on many factors, models experience, length of assignment and client budget. Commercial models can expect to earn anything from £150 to £1000’s !
“Molly was very friendly and passionate about the project. She found some good options for us very quickly! ” – Fuzzy Duck Creative
“Overall we have had a great experience both with yourself and the models, we always received quick responses and communication was thorough which was helpful in this task.” – Symphony Group
