Why modelling is open to everyone – of all ages and abilities!

We hope 2026 is treating you well so far and as we skip into spring it’s been everything you hoped it would be.

Very often, we have great aspirations for everything we plan to start, commit to or change as a new year begins.

Then when it arrives, we just don’t have the energy…

Well, here’s the thing: not all new beginnings require a lot of impetus and small steps in a different direction can lead to little changes that really do leave you feeling much more positive.

Why become a model?

You may have looked at models in campaigns and advertising and thought to yourself: “I could do that….”

Or, equally, you may think of modelling as something just for those with particular looks or abilities.

Well, think again!

Part-time, paid modelling is a pastime that is open to people of all ages and abilities – from tiny babes in arms up to octogenarians and from those who are experienced at posing for the camera to others who have never done it before.

And it is something that the vast majority of all those people who end up modelling with us discover they really enjoy.

They find it fun, exciting and rewarding to do something completely different.

They enjoy meeting new people, travelling to different places and – of course – earning a little extra money…

Some of our new models want to make a career of it eventually, while others see it as a stepping stone towards work on stage, in films, on television or elsewhere in the media.

But, for most, it is simply an enjoyable hobby that puts a few more pounds in their pocket.

So who can become a model?

Well, would it surprise you if we said almost anyone?

It really is true, especially with an agency like Models Direct.

Mature model Anthony, aged 82, said after a photo shoot with pub and brewer Greene King:

Little Zainah’s mum came back to us after she was booked for a job with Disney:

“I was over the moon as it was so fast, plus it was for a global kids company.
